JOB CREATION IN GHANA, A DISTANT DREAM?

For any economy to grow at an extra-ordinary rate, job creation and getting young people into decent jobs is a very important governmental policy.

Creating jobs for the youth has a huge impact on the economy. You get the youth engaged and by so doing getting them out of social vices, they become more responsible adults, with the money earned by such people; consumption in the economy increases leading to economic growth, more other jobs can be created from the increased spending as businesses make profit.

There is a great positive reason why all economies should create jobs, but it is always easier said than done. Job creation has always being a major setback for most countries, while some countries like those in Europe and North America have succeeded in minimizing the unemployment rate in their countries, the situation is much worse in the developing countries like Ghana.

Poor governmental policies for the youth and over reliance on foreign  imports has created an economy of importers rather than exporters. Importing goods export jobs outside and exporting goods create jobs inside the country.

Am I right to say that the government has completely failed in its pursuit of creating not just any job but good jobs for people? I guess they are doing their best. But much needs to be done. As the president presents his plans for creating jobs today, lets hope he means it, and not just pursuing a campaign strategy instead.

THE 2016 GHANAIAN ELECTIONS(Part 1)

I have been following the U.S elections with keen interest. Donald Trump is someone I find very interesting indeed. Despite his utterance and negative publicity people still support and vote for him. He is on his way to clinching the Republican nomination for the 2016 U.S elections.

Now lets come back home and monitor what is going on here. I am very disappointed with what is going on. the president is using his incumbency to skew the elections in his favor. Though it doesn't surprise me, that doesn't mean it is right. Past governments have done similar to their opponents. Politics in Ghana is turning out to be nasty indeed.

I support the view that Ghana needs a two party system like that in the U.S. Both parties must be supported by the state so we could have a free and fair election. Elections in Ghana are not that expensive if you are to compare that to the American elections. There is no cost to having a peaceful elections. If we can pay for it, why not. lets do it.

God help our homeland Ghana.
